Every tape is a stack of liner, adhesive and carrier. Once you know what each layer decides, all 18 TDS read in the same grammar.
Liner → conversion
Paper (PCK / glassine) suits die-cutting & flatbed work; film (PET / MOPP) suits rotary, low-particle processes. A double liner (WH / PV36) is for pre-fabrication.
Adhesive → what, how strong, how hot
Mostly acrylic. Tackified acrylic grips LSE (PP/PE) and rough surfaces; rubber-based suits places where hand-tearability and flexibility matter, like harnesses. Some high-performance acrylics (200MP) are not recommended for LSE.
Carrier → thickness, flexibility, stability
Nonwoven for conformability, film for precise gauge and heat, foam for gap-filling / stress relaxation / waterproofing. No carrier means a transfer tape.
Arranged by category. Every value and test condition is transcribed from the source documents below; the cross-section diagrams show the layer build only and are not to scale.
Nonwoven double-sided 7
Tissue / nonwoven carrier. Flexible and conformable, easy to die-cut — usually the 'general-purpose' baseline.

The general-purpose tissue tape — acrylic that even grabs LSE plastics
Steel/SUS peel uses different test methods per brand, so the 'normalized N/cm' column is only a rough sense of scale. 3M uses ASTM/FINAT at 72 h, tesa its own method at initial & 14 days, Nitto measures after 30 min with a PET#25 backing.

Unit conversion: N/25mm ÷ 2.5 = N/cm · N/20mm ÷ 2 = N/cm · N/10mm = N/cm · oz/in × 0.109 = N/cm. Acrylic foam (4229P) is a kg-unit foam-split test and was not converted. Use for relative comparison within a brand rather than absolute comparison across brands.

3MASTM D3330 (peel, 90°/180°) · ASTM D3654 (static shear) · ASTM D3652 (thickness). EMEA sheets use FINAT FTM1/FTM8. Generally measured after 72 h dwell.
tesatesa's own method, per-substrate values (steel, ABS, PC, PP, PE, etc.) at initial → 14 days. Heat resistance under static load; VDA 278 analysis compared against draft GB (China) & Japan MHLW guidelines.
Nitto180° peel, 300 mm/min, PET#25 (0.025 mm) backing, 2 kg roller one pass, 23 °C/50 %RH. Unit is N/20mm. Measured after 30 min by default, so tends to read lower than 3M / tesa.
